I did an Art Residency in rural Finland, about an hour northwest of Tampere. I had a game plan going there, I was going to paint the rural landscape and feeling of isolation (as we were still very much in the chaos of COVID-19. Once getting settled I quickly found that I wanted to paint familiar scenes of my home, Vancouver so instead i blended the pastel colours I was seeing each morning and evening in the Finnish sky with my home. This is one of 8 in my Finland Series.
